The Rev. Andrew D. Branch, Sr. is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Isidoa and Susan Branch, Sr. of Mount Vernon, New York. (Presiding Elder of the Westchester District of the New York Conference of the A.M.E. Zion Church). He has an older brother, the Rev. Isidoa Branch, Jr., the pastor of Jackson Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Hempstead, New York. Rev. Branch received his early education in the Mount Vernon public school system. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1992 ranked #2 in his class.In May 1996, Rev. Branch graduated magna cum laude from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. There he majored in Economics and minored in Religious Studies. He made the Dean's List every semester while at Drew and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society as well as the Omicron Delta Epsilon economics honor society. One of his greatest accomplishments while at Drew was the completion of a 175-page honors thesis which examined the economics of racial discrimination and segregation in the housing market between 1915 and 1930. In May 1998, he graduated from the New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service with a Master of Urban Planning with a specialization in economic development and transportation planning. Rev. Branch began his theological studies at the Union Theological Seminary in New York City in September 1998 completing a year of part-time study. In September 2000 Rev. Branch returned to his alma mater to complete his Master of Divinity degree at the Drew University Theological School which he earned in May 2004.

In October 2003, he married the former Robin KiRondi Harris.  They have one son, Andrew D. Branch, Jr. who was born in December 2005.

Rev. Branch is a former president of the New York Conference Christian Youth Leadership Council of the A.M.E. Zion Church. He presently serves as its advisor. On the denominational level, Rev. Branch has also served as the Director of Public Relations for the Varick International Christian Youth Council of the A.M.E. Zion Church.Rev. Andrew Branch preached his trial sermon on August 27, 1995 at Greater Hood Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in New York City. An active member of his father's church, Rev. Branch served as the Director of the Children's Choir and the Frank E. Churchill Ensemble. He also served as a substitute Sunday School teacher.On Friday, October 8, 1999 in Albany, New York at the Leadership Training Institute of the Northeastern Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Zion Church, Rev. Branch was ordained a deacon and assigned to the pastorate of the State Street A.M.E. Zion Church in Hudson, New York. In September 2000 he received his elder's orders at the St. Catherine A.M.E. Zion Church in New Rochelle, NY at the hand of Bishop George W.C. Walker, Sr. On Friday, September 28, 2001, in Albany, NY Rev. Branch was appointed to the pastorate of the Naomi Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in Roosevelt, NY where he has been laboring to help the congregation to realize its dream of a brand new worship edifice.

Rev. Branch serves  as the Chair of District Studies on the Long Island District.  He teaches Biblical Studies as well as Know Your Church. He is the Chairman of the Long Island District Finance Committee.  On the Annual Conference Level he has served on the Audit Committee and serves as an instructor in New York Conference Studies where he teaches Biblical Exegesis.

Rev. Branch is a jack-of-all trades. He not only preaches and teaches, but assists with the music department at Naomi Temple as well, makes handy-man repairs where feasible, and is responsible for many of the technological upgrades employed by the ministries operating at Naomi Temple.
